The controversy over anti-Telangana dialogues and scenes in the latest Pavan Kalyan blockbuster film Camerman Gangatho Rambabu is said to be totally unwarranted, as the director Puri Jagannath has actually targeted Telugu Desam Party president N Chandrababu Naidu, rather than the Telangana movement or Telangana Rashtra Samithi leaders.
According to sources close to Puri, the Telangana activists had completely misunderstood certain dialogues and scenes in the film, which were actually aimed at taking potshots at the TDP president. There were clear references to the villain as two-time Chief Minister in the past and his name is Jawahar Naidu; and he is presently in the opposition, while the chief minister is a Reddy. The villain always talks about Telugu Atma Gowravam, which is a patented dialogue of the TDP leaders.
However, there are a few references to regionalism, which were actually meant to point out the regional passions being whipped up by Raj Thackery of Nav Nirman Sena in Maharashtra. Perhaps, these might have been misunderstood to be an attack on the Telangana sentiment, say sources.
