Gautham Menon is known for making beautiful romantic films and this is brand GM film with all the elements that we expect from his movie. Tad slow yet feel good movie.

What is it about?

Varun (Nani) and Nithya (Samantha) are childhood friends who fall in love in their teenage. Certain egos and personal goals come between them and their love will be put to test. How they overcome all the hurdles is what this film is about.

Performances:

Nani is superb as Varun. He is a very natural actor who could easily go into the skin of any character. We have seen him doing energetic and entertaining characters before. This time he plays a soft spoken boy next door who is madly in love. He has come up with winning performance. Samantha is a revelation. She has proven as a fine actress before, but this time she delivers an excellent performance. Her expressions are very good. Krishnudu and the rest of the star cast are good.

On the Technical Front:

Music by Ilayaraja is decent. Couple of songs are haunting and background score is nice. Cinematography is beautiful. Editing is okay. Technically the movie is up to the mark.

Director Gautham Menon proves that he has great command over romantic tales. He captures minute details in love and this film is not an exception to it. However he should have mixed right dose of entertainment to make this appeal to all the sections of audiences. For now it is only the movie that will appeal to those who are in love. As a director this may not be Gautham's best, but it is definitely not bad.

Analysis:

Yeto Vellipoyindi Manasu doesn't have any story. It is just a journey of a couple who come across different situations in their life. Like every Guatham movie, this also moves at its own pace. It hardly moves at times and gets stuck to one point more than once. That may not go down well with the audiences who hate watching slow romantic films.

Most of the movie is conversational and people who expect punches will be disappointed. Why because the conversations are very natural and personal. So if you are not involved into the film they might seem boring. Music and performance of the lead pair are the main assets for this film which has its moments.

It is a very urbane film with feel good factor which would appeal to young hearts. It depends on your tastes and feelings whether to like it or not. Target audiences should help this film to sail safe at the box office. Will they? Let's wait and watch.

What is it about?

Sandhya (Kajal) is waiting for her soul mate and one fine day she bumps into Karthik (Raviteja) who has similar ideologies as her. She falls in love with him and tries to woo him. But Karthik gives her a big shock by telling that he was already married. What happens in this unusual love story is what this film is about.

Performances:

Raviteja looked a bit aged to play the role of Karthik. However, his natural ease and screen presence pulled it off. Although there are some shortcomings from his side, ultimately he is the saving grace for this film. Nara Rohith is a surprise package. He did well in the cameo and will be remembered after watching this film.

Kajal is neat as bubbly girl and Richa Gangopadhyay is adorable. Jayasudha is natural as ever. MS Narayana sparkled in a scene.

On the Technical Front:

Devi Sri Prasad's music is peppy and entertaining. Katuka Kallu and Racha Rambola will click with the masses. Background score is fine and cinematography is decent. Edit is up to the mark. The film's overall length is just over two hours.

Director Parasuram who has done a very fine job in his previous film Solo is a bit lazy here. The characters are underdeveloped and the scenes are half baked. His writing also is pretty bad. As a director this is his weakest film to date.

Analysis:

Love before marriage and life after marriage is the basic premise of this film. An interesting one indeed! This needs absolute attention to every detail and character. Every situation should be natural. But the director's choice of narrating it in a flashback mode didn't work.

The twist that he used is not new. We have seen similar twist in Prabhas's Darling movie. Director failed to bring right emotions and create emotional situations. You cannot connect with the characters on screen as they look artificial all the way. Only better character has been played by Nara Rohith and he impresses.

Lot of talking is there and entertainment is completely missing. There is no comedy too. Director should have made this film as a romantic entertainer. Completeness in script is lacking and that hampers the chances of this film to score at the box office. None of the situations look convincing as everything seems forced and out of nowhere.

Raviteja doing a film which is different from his routine style of movies is the USP of Sarocharu. We have to wait and see if that can save this film to sail safe. As per the current indications that seems highly impossible. Maybe holiday season should come to its rescue.

Verdict: Could have been better Sir... much, much better!

Yamudiki Mogudu Movie Review

We are not new to films that are set up with Yama Lokam backdrop. Telugu cinema has been churning out good number of 'Yama movies' in the recent past. It is Allari Naresh's turn to test this formula.

What is it about?

Naresh (Allari Naresh) marries Lord Yama (Sayaji Shinde) daughter Yamaja (Richa Panai) in a stage play and she comes after him saying that he is her real husband. When Naresh too falls for her Yama comes from Yama Loka to take back his daughter. Naresh follows him there as he has special powers.

Performances:

Naresh has done well within his limitations. He is at ease in comedy scenes and did his best in emotional situations. Richa Panai is just a glam doll. Sayaji Shinde didn't suit the role of Yama. Master Bharat as Young Yama is good. Krishna Bhagavan is hilarious and Raghu Babu is loud. Ramya Krishna is decent. Tanikella Bharani is topnotch.

On the Technical Front:

Koti's music is not good. Except for Atho Athamma kooturo remix nothing really works. Dialogues are good with fine one liners. Graphics are okay and the art department has done a neat job. Production values are good for a film with medium range star cast.

Director Sattibabu made sure that there is enough comedy in the film to make the film 'paisa vasool entertainer'. He should have written a better screenplay to make it a better film. As of now it is just an average effort from the director.

Analysis:

First half of the film races ahead with right doses of entertainment. Barring a couple of unwanted comedy scenes, first half is pretty decent with an interesting interval bang. People would expect the second half to be more fun.

However, the film fell short of expectations in the latter half as the director tried to make it a commercial film. Had he stuck to the comedy genre Yamudiki Mogudu might have scored more marks. There is not enough comedy in the second half.

The film drags on and on towards the climax. Joker song is completely unnecessary during the penultimate scene. This is where the film loses steam and ends up as an average fare. Most of Allari Naresh's films did well even with weaker content than this. So this should fare well at the box office too.

Verdict: Mass comedy with a sentimental climax

Story
Best friends Srinivas (Havish), Yasir (Ashwin), Siva (Vinod) worship different people like fans and ruin their lives.

Their faith is manipulated by the people they trust so they decide to teach a lesson to those people and set an example for all those who are into crazy worshipping.

Each one of them worships a cricketer, a film star and a politician respectively. What kind of decisions they take forms the rest of the story.

Performances
Omkar mentioned that Havish had invested in this film. It is a good thought to invest in film but the time is not right. Instead, he should invest money in an acting institute. The character he did is not easy. Only experienced actors can portray the range of emotions. Havish tried to pull it off with one ‘cry face’ expression. In every scene he gave wrong expression and put audience in trouble.

Ashwin Babu and Vinod are okay. Sanusha doesn’t have any qualities of heroine. Her physique and face is more suitable for sister roles. Ashish Vidyarthi and Pradeep Rawath are routine. Seniors like Kota, Annapurna, Chandramohan did justice to their roles.

Suman, Sarath Kumar are just okay. Brahmi had a lengthy comedy scene. Gabbar Singh spoof worked really well but Viswaroopam part was a little over.

The main message of the film is worshiping a human is wrong. It is an attempt to wake up those who are ready to give their lives in crazy fan feeling. Whether this attempt will connect to the families of the victims or not, to those who don’t have such connect will find this as major hammering. Usually Chinni Krishna’s stories have some mass elements.

This film has a few and only they can act as plus at the box office. The way film heroes finger in directors’ work and cause inconvenience and the satires on them are good. Similarly, few other satires on politicians are also good.

But overall, the film looks like a patched up product. Dialogues are very weak. Production values are good. Cinematography is decent. The songs are not that catchy. Screenplay has major errors. In first half there is no connection between scene to scene. The answers are got in second half but such stories have to be narrated properly. Omkar once said this is a Shankar film range story. Then he should realize that only a person with Shankar’s caliber can do justice to this. The second half is better than first half because everything is there in second half only.

There is no logic or relevance to the title and the story. Due to aggressive publicity the openings will be good but only this publicity can save the film.

Pawan Kalyan dislikes Sampath Nandi's script

Power Star Pawan Kalyan's proposed film under the direction of young director Sampath Nandi was shelved, as the star did not give a final 'GO' signal to the project as he did not like the script. According to sources, NTV CEO Sharat Maror was supposed to produce the film.

Sampath Nandi earlier directed two films Yemaindi Ee Vela and Racha. When Sampath approached Pawan Kalyan for this film, Pawan initially agreed to work with him and asked him to come up with the full script. Accordingly, the director recently met the actor with the script, but Pawan disliked the script.

Pawan - Trivikram Movie Launch date-On Nov 23

Power Star Pawan Kalyan who is in super form with Gabbar Singh and Cameraman Ganga Tho Rambabu will soon start working for his next film, which will be directed by Trivikram Srinivas. B V S N Prasad produces this film on Venkateswara Cine chitra banner.

Pawan Kalyan will be playing a youthful role in this untitled film that will be launched on November 23 and regular shoot will commence from December. As per the buzz, 'Sarada' and Hare Rama Hare Krishna are the titles under consideration for this movie. Nothing has been confirmed yet. Samantha might play the female lead in it.

Trivikram is also in the form with the recent success 'Julayi' and Pawan was impressed with the story line of Trivikram and agreed to star in this film. More details will be announced soon.

Pavan Kalyan remuneration 12 crores

Ambitious producer B V N N Prasad alias “Chatrapathi” Prasad, who had earlier burnt his fingers by making the so-called master piece “Devudu Chesina Manusulu” and is now on the way to complete “Ongole Giththa” with young hero Ram, has started making preparations to produce a film with the combination of power-star Pavan Kalyan and ace director Trivikram Srinivas.

Grapevine has it that Prasad is paying record remuneration of a whopping Rs 14 crore to Pavan Kalyan for this film; and this has become a talking point in the film circles. And one doubts whether Trivikram Srinivas would remain silent, if he is not given at least half of this amount as his remuneration. He would definitely take it up with the producer in his own style, as lesser remuneration would amount to insulting an artiste like him.

If Prasad agrees for this remuneration, he would be spending Rs 21 crore just on these two artistes – Pavan Kalyan and Trivikram Srinivas. One wonders how much he would pay for others and what would be the overall budget of the film. If such a huge money of Reliance group is spent on paying remunerations, god only can save the Telugu film industry!

Pawan Kalyan's Black And White Passion

Power star Pawan Kalyan may well be a trendsetter at the box office and also in mannerisms and style but at heart he is very much the old fashioned and conventional guy. This can be seen with his interests and likes. The latest we hear is Pawan’s passion for yesteryear melodies and classics.

It is heard that Pawan loves black and white songs especially melodies. That is why, in his directorial venture ‘Johnny’ he had remix of the song ‘Ee reyi teeyanidhi…’. Similarly, in ‘Khushi…’ he had ‘Aadavari maatalaku ardhaalu verule…’ from the film ‘Missamma’. Now it is heard that he is looking for few words from the old times.

Apparently, he wants to use that as a title which will resemble old films. Circles close to Pawan reveal he is busy breaking his head to coin that one name which can suit the title of his new movie but at the same time remind the Telugu audience of its classic nature and essence of tradition and culture. Hare Rama Hare Krishna is the title that's been considered for Pawan Kalyan's upcoming film in the direction of Trivikram Srinivas. Touted to be a family entertainer in the lines of Trivikram's earlier works 'Nuvvu Naku Nachav', this film depicts the Telugu Culture and Traditions. While speaking about the film, the director mentioned that he choose Pawan for a family subject as the reach will be bigger when a message was given through a star.

Tollywood Top Heroes & Directors Remuneration

A leading news channel has recently reported that Top Heroes and Directors have been charging a bomb for signing a film. The media house went ahead and released the remunerations chart of most happening heroes and directors in Tollywood.

According to those figures, Pawan Kalyan charged Rs 11 crore for Cameraman Gangatho Rambabu and he is going to get paid anywhere between Rs 12-15 crore for his future projects. Mahesh Babu too is charging similar pay package. Next on the list is NTR with Rs 10 crore, Charan with Rs 7 crore (Producer's actor), Prabhas with Rs 7 crore, Allu Arjun with Rs 6 crore (Producer's actor), Ravteja with Rs 6 crore, Ram with Rs 4 crore, Siddharth with Rs 3 crore, Nani with Rs 3 crore and Allari Naresh with Rs 2.5 crore. While big heroes Balayya and Nag were pocketing Rs 6 crore each, another hero in the same league Venky is getting Rs 5 crore per film.

Coming to directors, Rajamouli takes whopping Rs 3 crore initially and 33% share in the film later. While Puri Jagannath is charging Rs 11 crore per film, Srinu Vytla and VV Vinayak are pocketing Rs 9 crore and Rs 7 crore respectively.

Looking at these numbers, it's no surprise that at least 40% production cost of a big budgeted film goes to the remunerations of cast and crew. Though these figures will never be confirmed or denied officially by any of our stars and their directors, they create some serious buzz for sure.

Though 'cameraman gangatho rambabu' got positive reports on the day of its release, the morning show collections of the movie on day two indicated that the movie was heading for a flop. At this juncture, a political party has come to the rescue of 'CGR'. The party has created protests to remove some of the scenes in the movie and this news was focused much by TV channels and other media sources. As per the trade analysts, CGR got Rs. 2 crores worth free publicity through these stirs.

On the other hand, CGR collected a share of Rs.31.18 crores at the end of its first week run. So, it is evident that the movie can easily cross the mark of Rs.40 crores share in its full run.What if there were no controversies on this movie? As per trade reports, the closing share of the movie would be just around Rs.30 crores. To sum up, the movie gets a benefit of minimum Rs.10 crores and the maximum is based on the exact closing share mark.

All Heroes Fans United for 'CGR'

We often see the rivalry among the fans of different heroes. However, here is a strange incident, that we hardly expect to be happened. As per the details, the former Urdu Academy director did a relay fast at Tatipaka of East Godavari district, demanding to stop attacks on Telugu movies such as 'cameraman gangatho rambabu' with silly reasons. To extend their support, fans of Chiranjeevi and Pawan Kalyan also joined the fast.

Having known this matter, fans associations of all heroes such as Mahesh Babu, Jr.NTR and Nagarjuna gathered from all mandals of Konaseema, conducted a big rally and finally, reached Tatipaka. Later, all of them formed a human chain and burned the effigy of a political leader. Their 'Rastharoko' caused traffic jam for 4 kilometers. The SI of Rajole controlled and cleared the traffic later.

‘Cameraman Gangatho Rambabu’ has collected around Rs 3 Cr gross in first five days in USA out of which 30% goes to theatre rentals.

Despite heavy controversy, the film didn’t get mileage in USA since the scenes weren’t cut there. The producer sold out the film at very high price in USA.

These days, a big film that fails to collect lessthan 1 million dollers in USA is considered to be a failure since the producers are selling at huge prices.

Actress Shubha Phutela passed away

Actress Shubha Phutela (22) has passed away on October 22. The very Young actress was supposed to debut in Tollywood cinema with Ram starrer Ongole Gitta to be directed by Bommarillu Bhaskar. But the actress backed out of the film as her health conditions were bad. Due to the severe case of Jaundice, she died on 22nd October.

Shubha Phutela is also the winner of title Miss South India 2012 and she made her debut with Tamil movie, Maalai Pozhudin Mayakathilaey (MPM). Actor Ram expressed his grief on his twitter page, “RIP Shubha..this is truly heartbreaking!! She was Too young..Toooooo young!!Sweet..Innocent..Dedicated..Passionate!Strength 2 d Family!!!”

He further informed, “For d ones who don't know.. Shubha Phutela is a 21yr old girl who was first chosen for our film..she backed out due 2 her health condition!.”

Chiranjeevi reaction On 'CGR'

So much is happening on ‘Cameraman Ganga Tho Rambabu’ and barring the visit to Puri Jagan’s office by Pawan Kalyan fans and a statement from Lagadapati Rajagopal, no one is talking. At this point, one man’s words are very crucial. He is Chiranjeevi and why is he silent at this point.

He is the one who left cinema industry to enter into politics. When a controversy happens to film industry he should be the one to protect it. Moreover, he is in the ruling party congress. Even someone like Botsa Satyanarayana opened his mouth and said censor board should look into it.

The government in haste has put a committee. It is not government’s job. Either the censor board or the High Court should look into. Anyways, what’s with Chiru? he should have represented the film and said something. Many are laughing that even for this he has to take permission from ‘madam’. They also criticize how can such a dumb man enter politics.

If it is a general issue then ok but cinema issues he should be able to speak. After all, this is his ‘Thammudu’s cinema, a big producer Dil Raju’s distribution and a director who gave debut to his son. Very sad!!

Pawan Kalyan Says No to Puri Politics

As per the media buzz today, Puri Jagannath excited with the kind of energy pawan kalyan has shown on the screen mouthing powerfully inspirational dialogues in 'Cameraman Ganga Tho Ram Babu,' the director has made his mind to block the dates of Power Star for a new Political subject. Yes, it could be on the same lines of temporarily shelved 'YS Rajasekhara Reddy.'

Reports say that, Pawan who generally stays away from all the forms of controversies isn't so happy with the way 'CGR' is running deep into crisis and arguments, coming out with nearly 15 cuts. So, Pawan is heard to have neatly declined the offer of Puri for a future Political project. Well, it could be either Junior NTR or Mahesh Babu might cash on this if everything goes well in 2013.
